Overview
Located on the bank of the Detroit River, Cobo Center is the centerpiece of Detroit's Civic Center and the heart of the Motor City's booming downtown development. Cobo’s 700,000 square feet of prime exhibit space in five exhibit halls rank the facility as the 19th largest convention center in the country.

75 remodeled meeting rooms vary in size from 600 to 27,000 square feet, including three 11,000 and two 9,000 square foot meeting rooms, all of which can be divided in half. Total meeting room space is 175,000 square feet.
That space includes the 27,000 square foot Riverview Ballroom, along with five other banquet rooms and a new restaurant, all offering spectacular panoramic views of the Detroit River and across the river to our Canadian neighbors in Windsor, Ontario.
The 1,000 foot-long concourse atrium provides 100,000 square feet of pre-function space and an outstanding view of the downtown skyline. Attached to Cobo Center, with direct access from the atrium, is 11,000 seat Cobo Arena. Adjacent to the Center is Joe Louis Arena, home of the NHL Detroit Red Wings, seating 21,000. Both are available for convention use.
In addition to Cobo Center, Hart Plaza is also part of the Civic Center complex. This 14-acre riverfront park at the foot of Woodward Avenue in the heart of downtown is the site of a variety of summer-time entertainment and is available for use by conventions. Hart Plaza features open space for receptions and other gatherings, as well as a small amphitheater.
Parking
Onsite parking at Cobo Center includes 2,200 spaces and an additional 7,000 parking spaces within four blocks. The People Mover mono-rail station inside Cobo enables conventioneers to gain door-to-door access to the facility from many downtown hotels, restaurants and attractions via the 13 stations on the People Mover’s 2.9 mile loop through downtown.
RiverWalk
Just outside Cobo’s doors on the River Level, is the new RiverWalk, providing a wonderful stroll to the primary convention hotel, the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. Overall, 1 1/2 miles of RiverWalk are directly accessible from Cobo. The RiverWalk presents a unique opportunity for visitors to experience an international waterway and the frequent passings of Great Lakes freighters.
